The Lonesome Billys are a New York City-based band playing a repertoire by artists such as Patsy Cline, Elvis Presley, Bob Wills, Bill Monroe, Charlie Rich, George Jones and Gillian Welch, all of whom have contributed to the melding of country, bluegrass, pop, Western swing, blues and rock 'n' roll to create their own unique voices. It's the soulful blues of Memphis and the propulsive picking of Kentucky, the devil's music and the deliverance of gospel all at once; it's honky-tonk in the big city and southern music in the land of the Yankees.
Composed of veterans of the New York music scene, the band has been active for about five years and plies the NYC circuit, with numerous appearances ar Rodeo Bar, Lakeside Lounge, Jalopy Theatre and Hank's Saloon.
