"The Long Holidays" are a fully independent rock band from Los Angeles CA with rock, country, folk and surf influences. Their songs are typically narrative and deal with larger than life heroes and their adventures, thus the term that many use to describe them, "Adventure Rock".
"The Long Holidays" were started as a college project in 2007 by leader and primary song-writer Jim "Man o' War" Holmquist. They have maintained a fairly low profile, but have been recently galvanized by line-up changes and the completion of their self-released album "The Adventure Through Liquid Space".
In addition to their reverb soaked, ukulele flavored, sing along epics about vikings, pirates, astronauts and friends, "The Long Holidays" are known for their friendly and jokey stage performances. Things to look forward to with this band include their continuous amphibious assault on the Los Angeles music scene, and the forthcoming release of "Through Two Lenses", the first installment in a series of loose concept EP's. (Spoiler alert: the loose concept is Adventure)
