Please have a listen and see for yourself..so many people have told me my voice reminds them of Harriet Wheeler from the Sundays but lately I've been doing some different stuff, a bit more Kate Bush (Dogs and Demons), exploring different languages...I'm not fluent in any except English but have some Spanish, French and Japanese and I have a good ear for accents...
recently our My Space friends have made reference to Loreena McKennitt, Tori Amos, Sarah McLachlan, Happy Rhodes... I am honoured by all of these comparisons...;o)
Hey there! Tracy here...Well, its definately time for an update. The Long Goodbyes (minus John ) is currently on a creative sabbatical, singing, painting and filming our way up the California coast, on to Canada and then back down for a few months in Mexico. Marco and I are travelling with our two gorgeous girls, Santana & Sienna...homeschooling along the way and looking out for adventures that come our way.
Our music comes from our heart...we want to use our creativity to make the world a better place...we have been working for 8 years with an amazing school (Colegio de esperanza )in Tijuana and we will be raising funds and awareness along the way as we travel over the next 7 months. We really appreciate anyone that takes the time to listen to our songs and to write back..our music is our poetry and our gift to the Universe..namaste....Tracyxxx
I also love to paint and have my own page at www.myspace.com/mariposabella where you can see some of my artworks. Just click on mariposa in our friends list below

Springing from the creative watering ground of Australias NSW South Coast, this three piece ensemble is poised to once again inspire the music industry with their lilting yet vibrant, groove-induced, world-friendly tunes.
After listening to their recently released first single New thought, Fox Studios director Christopher Collins selected the band as the winners of a full production music video, scheduled for imminent release on Rage and Aurora.
Collins company Flickapolitan Films has produced clips for a string of high profile artists during the eighties such as Chris Rea, Sam Brown and Howard Jones. After abandoning his search for a new sound in Sydney, Christopher stumbled across New Thought while hanging out down south and promptly signed the Long Goodbyes up for the shoot. The video is an ethereal montage of pre-Raphaelite motifs.
The band has an eclectic mix of creative souls. The voice of singer/songwriter and artist Tracy Verdugo has been long compared to both free spirited Kate Bush, and Harriet Wheeler of the Sundays. Her passionate display of emotion is evident in all she sings or paints.
National award winning songwriter/guitarist Mex from the former Indie pop band Twinfish is also a talented engineer, recording and mixing all Long Goodbyes songs and mentoring others who have the burning desire to pursue their music.
Drummer, percussionist and keyboardist, John Coleman provides the rhythmic cohesion to the project, while an array of transient musos sit in to add further colour to the songs.
Many of you are probably wondering where my thought and photo postings have been. My 5 year old computer that I use to post my photos finally needed replacing. It took a while to load all my software and get back to an operational status. Here is the thought and photo that I planned to post before my unfortunate hardware failure. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sometimes we decide to stray off the path that has been set before us. Most of the time we realize that leaving the path was a bad decision. Eventually we get so deep into the “woods” that it’s hard to find the path again.
There is hope however! We all come with a built in “compass”. If we close our eyes and just listen to this “compass”, the direction that we need to go to get back on our path will be made clear.
I hope that you have a great weekend and a great week to come.

"I don't wanna say goodbye for the summer Knowing the love we'll miss Oh let us make a pledge to meet in September And seal it with a kiss Guess it's gonna be a cold lonely summer But I'll fill the emptiness I'll send you all my love every day in a letter Sealed with a kiss." - Bobby Vinton
Our Lives are usually as stressful and chaotic as we allow them to be. Sometimes we get stuck in a rut and just do things a certain way. We never realize that there may be a better and less stressful way of doing things.
Sometimes just doing something relaxing will allow us to clear our head. That way, when we enter the stressful situation again; we may be more open to a better way of handling things.
I hope that you have a great weekend, and a great week to come.

All too often we stretch ourselves too thin. Some of us, like me, tend to have way too many things going on in our lives at any one time. If we try to concentrate our efforts on too many different things at once the result could be disastrous.
Confucius once said “If you chase two rabbits, both will escape”.
I hope that you have a great weekend. I also hope that in the coming week that you do not end up “chasing too many rabbits”.
Sometimes it seems as if we have tucked our goals so far into the back of our minds that they appear to us as lights in the distance. The doorway to achieving our goals is still wide open, so we need to run through it and bring those goals closer to the front of our minds, and closer to becoming a reality.
I hope that you a have a great weekend and a great week to come.
As we age we often forget that life is supposed to be fun. When we are young, fun is what we are about. This is somehow lost in the time of our lives.
If we find something that connects us with this lost youthful exuberance, we should keep doing it even if someone tells us otherwise. It is this connection with our youth that I believe will get us though some of the toughest times of our lives.
I hope that you have a great weekend, and a great week to come.
An old saying says “You can not dig yourself out of a hole”. You may not be able to dig yourself out of a hole, but given the right motivation you can propel yourself out like a rocket and reach new heights never before thought possible.
I hope that you have a great weekend and a great week to come.
If you look closely at the waterfall in the enclosed photos, you will notice a distinct difference in how the water looks. The difference is based on the amount of time that the shutter was open. It took me a while to learn this technique of freezing the motion of the water in an instant of time.
Time is something that I have been thinking a lot about in recent days. As many of you know from my update email, I have a lot more time on my hands now that I am working a new schedule. So, of course I am thinking a lot about how to best spend this new found time that I have.
I think that time is like a treasure. We only have a certain amount of it every day. If we waste this precious treasure called time we have no one to blame but ourselves.
I hope that you make the most of every second. Have a great weekend, and a great week to come.
Hey hey! Nice to have yaz back on board neighbours, I had you lot on my ooooooooold myspace music page from yonks ago but due to a silly break-up-with-a-girl moment I deleted that page AND wrote a song about it. As you do! So nice to have yaz on my newer page and, as always, nice to hear yaz.(Plus I found the nicest, sweetest girl ever so yay me!) Cheers for the accept, much appreciated Richie
One day I was talking with a friend of mine, and she asked me a very simple question; “What are you plans for the coming week?” I proceeded to name off all of the things that I had to accomplish, all of the things that I hoped to accomplish, and all of the things that I probably would not have the time to accomplish. Her only response to my rather lengthy to do list was “Don’t you ever take the time to do anything that you actually enjoy doing?”
She was so right! Most of us do not set aside time in our week to do things that we truly enjoy. It is a sad but true fact.
My friend knows me very well, and she reminded me that I really enjoy my photography, and I also enjoy field archery, but I have not taken the time to actually enjoy these things lately. Well, now that it has been pointed out to me, I think that it is high time to make a change. Now I will resolve to set some time out of my busy schedule to actually do something that I enjoy doing, and I challenge you to do the same.
I hope that you have a great weekend, and a great week to come. It’s time to get out and find something to truly enjoy.
