Influences
We draw on influences from all styles of music and try to incorporate them into our kaleidoscope of sound. We are all greatly influenced by The Beatles but also by artists such as Brian Wilson, Pink Floyd, U2, Dave Matthews, Shakti, Nat King Cole, Phish, and many others.
Sounds Like
We have been compared to The Beatles or Fleetwood Mac but we have also heard comparisons to The Beach Boys, Lovin' Spoonful, and Steely Dan(?!)
The Lost Chord is a unique band on a mission to bring great music back to the masses. Some might describe their music as choral popular fusion, drawing on influences from all popular styles, such as rock, jazz, classical, country, and folk as well as others, to create a music with real mass appeal. With 6 lead vocalists, the band features fantastic 3 and 4 part, layered harmonies, and with 9 people on stage they surround their audience with a wall of beautiful arrangements colored by soaring melodies, spotless vocal harmonies, driving rhythms and tight polished grooves . The band features the normal compliment of guitars, drums, bass and keyboards plus percussion and cello, and they are sometimes supported by a chamber orchestra, both live and in recordings. In this age of "Lo-Fi" indie music and over-produced "music-in-a-can", The Lost Chord strives towards Hi-Fi and is a breath of fresh air bringing back taste and polish to popular music.
The Lost Chord have toured across Canada several times, they have composed music for film, television and award winning documentaries, in 2006 they composed the campaign theme song for the Premier of New Brunswick, and in 2008 were nominated for Best Indie Rock band at the Ontario Independant Music Awards. The band recently reached number 4 on the CIUT Top 30 charts. They are currently recording the follow up to their self titled debut release. They are a band not to be missed.

It's almost the time for a huge party!!! Everything at this point sounds ready to go, and it feels like we are all going to have a great time on Friday (and probably a hard time waking up on Saturday;) Don't remember if i told you - Chantel and Ashot will be performing with us, both sound fantastic!!
