vodka martinis and the blues make an odd combination... reminiscent of days gone when rattle and scum ruled the earth and supers where still magnified in science by a projector,
by no means a dalliance with a royal princess, but by no means a slap in the face from a bum

not for the faint hearted, the lost gospel is a passive aggressive machine that just keeps on giving. not content to lie down in the muddy pastures of mediocrity, the lost gospel are playing there own tune and living inside a four bedroom brick garage with tiles and a toilet. with malfunction the norm, no one can seem to do anything wrong as within the gospel there are no rules written, just obeyed. pop/crock/garage/shlock this band sounds like a wave that refuses to break. an unconforming melodrama that is most insincere at times. no doubt, the lost gospel will leave audiences bewildered and shocked at there unique approach to an undefinable genre.
is it time for a religious experience. forget post punk. forget new wave. this is the lost gospel according to....
matthew strong - bass
previous engagements being custard, the boat show and tddatec, matthew has a unique blend of ability and anarchy. a complex character full of why and why nots, matthew has been traveling the australian musical waters via hovercraft drifting in and out when there is fuel. a multi instrumentalist, matthew provides a key song writing ingredient to the gospel that dave mcormack misses to this day. this curly haired genius now occupies the bass and adds the smoke and mirrors.
nick wright - guitar
previous engagements being introvert extrovert and tddatec. nick wright is already a legend. having cowritten tracks with phil over the past ten years and now armed with a rickenbacker four chords and the truth, nick, or sputnik geekabite plays a fluid and playful guitar underwritten by great song skills and an ear for offensive lyrics. watch for his stage attire as nick is not one to be left at the alter. his combinations of fruit, talcum powder and cowboy hats provide incredible enjoyment for the crowd as does his tasteful playing and shy boy attitude.
lee maloney - drums
previous engagements being bloody mary and tddatec, lee provides the gospel with the only sense of true talent. a drummer of worth, he steers the ship no matter what. after moving from the fishing village of yamba when lee was just a boy, he found a job hitting the skins as phil rudd in an acdc covers band. it is here where the full stop starts and then ends. having been hired and fired by the likes of mr alex lloyd, lee is an unequivocal drumming legend. watch him instead of me.
phil jamieson - vox/guitar
previous engagements being stiffy, tddatec & grinspoon. phil is the leader of the group, transformed from the norm by the nuclear goop. his songs get life breathed into them by the four am-mentioned players and any lack of self belief is forgotten once taken the stage. starting the project in november of 2004, after the acoustic duo of the casualties (nick and phil) could no longer find an audience, the band recorded a demo. in january of 05 phil broke a finger and put any further gospel dreams out of reach, once healed, in mid 05, the gospel got together again and the propaganda began to fall into place. let us pray...
