Bio
Holding Hands with the Crooked Man was the first EP by the Maine based band The Loups. It is still available in limited print off the BullMoose website (Click the picture of the CD above and it'll take to a secure checkout at BullMoose Music:), if not message us for a copy or check ebay(about 500 were printed). It consists of many genres and demonstrates a lot of visions and ideas that were flowing through the primary singer/songwriter Justin Graves during his early works. It was co-written by long time friend and former band mate Nate Morin, who still jams with Justin from time to time but lives in the great white north now. Nate was a major influence on the "heavier" stuff on the EP and wrote most of the guitar leads you hear on the record. The Loups hit the scene hard in the first year they were playing out. They shared the stage with bands like The Cambiata, KidNapKin, Daro, Radiation Year, EverySmithEver, The Sober Dead, Brandy of the Damned, Six String Crush, Stage Fright, Loki, Mother|Father, Loverless and others, showing that they were good at promoting and loyal to the local scene. But ultimately drug abuse and artistic differences eventually tore through The Loups, churning through 2 bass players (Lindsay Morin and Micah Hunt), and eventually putting The Loups on a indefinite hiatus after 2 years .............................................................................................................The good news is The Loups have not stopped yet, Justin Graves has been busy at work, setting up for the next chapter in this book, drummer Nick Laskey is still on board, and they are looking for other people to join in on the fun (message us if you are interested, all instruments welcome) And the new material is going to knock your socks off. Stay tuned for new music. A new album is in the works. Keep your eyes peeled for upcoming shows, and again if you play an instrument, have your own equipment, or just wanna play some shakers and have a good time, message us, The Loups are always looking for more people to jam with. The Loups are, and will continue to be...... -
