Influences
The list of bands who influence our songwriting easily ranges in the hundreds. So we'll just do a random sampling of a fortuitous handful. And the winners, in no particular order, are: Springsteen, Beatles, Jellyfish, Harry Nilsson, ELO; and The Move, Bonzo Dog Band, Tiny Tim, Queen, The Beach Boys, Chris Bell, Dr. Dog, Hal, The Kinks, Bob Dylan; but Gene Clark even more, James, Gram Parsons, Crack the Sky, Chamberlain, Joel Plaskett, Long Pigs, throw some Westerberg slop in from time to time and some Bowie theatrics and you're just about there.
Sounds Like
Whatever happens to be baking the collective noodle whence we ride that wintry tide.
We are The Loveblisters. We all speak the native Algonquin tongue, Ojibwa, fluently. (Which is actually a complete coincidence.) Our bass player Lou has an unruly fascination with marsupials, particular of the southern hemisphere. You know, wombats, opossums, and what have you.
Our sound is the grit of desert beneath our nails gently scratching the astoundingly genteel, broad back of America's wandering spirit. We are as displaced as the very place we call home. We are neither ahead of our time or behind it, we are clumsily in between.
