Singer, Steven Kremers met guitarist Steven Holsbeeks on a boat cruise en route the Ivory Coast. Holsbeeks had fled Belgium in order to pay off some hefty gambling debts. The 2 met while in the ships jacuzzi and discovered they shared a burning desire to make "excellent, excellent music of a world-class-standard".
Kremers offered to pay his gambling debts in exchange for his guitar services. Holsbeeks agreed.
The Internet is great. Myspace is amazing. Steven spent the summer of 2006 recording and uploading songs to his Myspace page. His song "The Plan" was an overnight success and it wasn't long before local guitar hero Younes Faltakh, of The Hickey Underworld, was buying him drinks and telling him how good he looked.. (and sounded) . Later, it was revealed that Faltakh could also drum. Steven saw the great marketing/networking potential in this and offered to 'buy him out' of THU.
Younes repeatedly declined. Faltakh suggested drumming for The Love Company while still playing in The Hickey Underworld. Steven agreed under the condition that The Love Company become his first priority, Younes replied: 'No fucking way'.
Going out is AWESOME.You never know what's going to happen and who you're going to meet. It was by going out that Steven Kremers met future bass player and backing vocalist: Karolien Vanransbeeks. She provided the beautiful vocals heard on The Love Company's demo. Karolien recently left the band to pursue her career as a professional darts player.
