The Lovelight Blues Band is a bold five piece of talented musicians whose main focus is to create strong, unique and exciting music. The Oakland based band has been playing and building their repertoire for nearly five years, and their style of blues finds inspiration from all the great blues musicians both old and new. Lovelight’s other musical styles pull from an even wider range of musical genres including funk, rock, hip-hop and soul.
Doward is the classic frontman. When he gets on stage prepared to be entertained. From his distictive voice, his ease and comfort with an audience, and his sharp dress you know this is the real deal. Al reigns from the great city of New Orleans and has played Sax with the Rebirth Brass Band. Once showing up late to a gig to the amazement of the audience he started his solo from the back of the crowd and worked his way on stage mid song. Great showman. Scott Wild has been playing the drums and percussion since the age of 7. Originally from NJ, his father played dixieland music in the house as long as he can remember. Scott began studying the drums in 1st grade, and eventually studied classical and jazz with Tom Sicola. He co-founded Marblehead Records a small independent record label. and has co-produced other artists as well as his own groups, "Ton of Bricks" and "The Agave Ensemble". He can also be heard recording and performing in the Bay Area with singer song writer Dave Lionelli, Jason Gouveia, Paul Britt, Al Lazard and the New World Street Players, and 2 traditional Jazz Bands: The Barrelhouse Jazz Band, and the Music Masters Jazz Quartet. Currently, Brent is playing guitar in several groups: Ton of Bricks, Peter Caragher Band, and the Greg Cross Band.
