The Lovell Sisters features the Lovell Sisters' tight harmonies. A fusion of folk, country, and contemporary acoustic, this five-piece band is based in Calhoun, GA.
They won the Prairie Home Companion's National Teen Talent Contest 2005 with Garrison Keillor in February, and have become a growing musical sensation throughout the nation. The three sisters have sung and played together for more than 10 years, and have been together as a band for almost four years.
With two international tours under their belts, The Lovell Sisters will be returning to Norway and Sweden in Spring 2009 to promote the European release of their much anticipated second studio CD, "Time To Grow".
"Paulita Maxwell" is so amazing, I honestly thought it was a cover of a traditional song or something. You guys are great songwriters and I love everything about you!
Rebecca! Thank you for saying "Appalachian" correctly :) Your song "My Home" is incredible! I went to college in the Appalachian Mountains and your song fits the feeling of these mountains so well! I hope y'all record that! The ending jam is rockin'! I'm looking forward to your Opry debut!
Hey sisters - great to hook up here - I really felt lucky to work on your stage at Merlefest - you guys have an awesome groove going! Hope to see you soon!
I hope you all know how wonderful it was to see someone from a little town like Calhoun up on the stages at Bonnaroo. I caught y'all at the Sonic Stage and it was great!
Lovell mispronounced? Sisters should add an audio on how to say it properly then. As far as I know, it's pronounced the same way on both sides of the Atlantic, which is not like Lea"vell" at all.
what up you guys are the best no one can beat the lovell sisters because they rock and they cant be beat they have a awesome person that plays the violin and someone that plays the little guitar and someone plays the steel guitar u are the i love u guys
"There is a word often used when describing rising Americana stars The Lovell Sisters: Consistently Mispronounced (Love-UL, seriously, it's not that hard). Its what these three young women—Jessica (23), Megan (19) and Rebecca (18)—feel when they step on stage to perform. Mispronunciation-induced rage is the fuel that feeds their writing and arranging, and it colors every note they play and sing on Time To Grow..."
Yeah, that wasn't even a little bit funny...
This past weekend was awesome though. Glad we got to hang out a bit and pick some tunes.
