The Lovers asked their fans to describe the music they create, here are a few of their answers:

"Psychedelic folk music. Retro pop. Festival rock" -M7
"Contemporary Folk Rock band with a conscience and awareness of the universal and infinite" -Roxann Pierce
The Lovers were born from a freaky family of friends deep within the oasis of the Texas Hill Country. In the Christmas of '04, embracing the spirit of creation rather than consumption, they made a holiday album for their families. Through that experience they decided the music should continue, and here is their first album of all original songs. Three singers, electric and acoustic guitars, a lilting flute, imaginative percussion and steady bass make for a vibrant, ever-changing sound that is both folk and rock and borders on psychedelic. Conscious lyrics complete the experience. Let yourself be loved!
The Lovers were featured on KLBJ 590 AM John Aielli's, Aielli Unleashed, check out the interview Jim Hightower did with John Aelli and listen for Lovers songs!! http://www.kut.org/items/show/11959. They have also been featured on Evolution Radio, a local show on 91.7 FM.
The Lovers were also featured in an Art exhibit called “The Activist Impulse” at Women and Their Work Gallery in Austin from October 10 - November 15, 2008. Check back often to see what we get into next!

We
are looking for people to go online and post Earthdance Austin info on
all of your favorite blogs and forums. Tell all your friends and get
this grassroots effort going.
This being the first year, it is
harder to get the word out. Please send us your email address to get on
the mailing lists, then send out those newsletters to everyone you
know. If all of our friends on here did this we could get the word out
to over a million people.
Bands and Performers, Please add us
to your top friends and put up the poster, let everyone know you are
performing at Earthdance Austin and that you want them to come out and
support you.
We are working on the new newsletter now. If we
sell 500 tickets before July 15th, we can have Kevens (headline for
Burning Man) and Ky- Mani Marley. We need your help in order to get
this done though.
Give Peace a Dance my friends and do something great for our local charities.
Tickets are still on sale for $75 until July 15th.
This
includes 3 days of camping, 60+ bands, Eco Friendly Workshops, Healthy

On June 20th we will be celebrating the 2009 Summer Solstice at Ruta Maya with Plump (Houston,TX). The official time when the solstice begins is on June 21, 2009 at 1:45 A.M.
The Summer Solstice results in the longest day and the shortest night of the year. As the days lengthen, the sun rises higher and higher until it seems to stand still in the sky. Most celebrations of the first day of summer have dancing & bonfires to help increase the sun's energy.
In honor of the Solstice, a sacred fire with lights and surprises we will be lit and were going stay up all night to welcome the dawn.
Cool facts
* Ancient Pagans celebrated Midsummer with bonfires, when couples would leap through the flames, believing their crops would grow as high as the couples were able to jump.
* Midsummer was thought to be a time of magic, when evil spirits were said to appear. To thwart them, Pagans often wore protective garlands of herbs and flowers. One of the most powerful of them was a plant called 'chase-devil', which is known today as St. John'1...
You guys really rocked out your flipside set as well; it was amazing how long you guys played, you had some true stamina to make it all the way, especially cuz of the burner time had you starting at like 4:20 when you were supposed to start at midnight! it was a great night!
Ever wondered what to do in the event of a nuclear threat?
A while ago I found stuff that inspired me to make this film:
Living Under the Shadow of the Nuclear Umbrella
Both artistic (ensure you get the background music!) and educational, it primarily comprises official British government civil defence advice.
Though source materials are quite aged, much remains relevant today.
