Hello everyone we're The Duran's and as many of you know our son was diagnosed with Cancer last November. This has been the longest and hardest journey we've ever had to endure and we'd do it all over again if it meant saving our baby boy's life. Childhood should be a time of joy, wonder, play and learning experiences -- chasing butterflies on warm sunny days, catching the first snowflakes of winter, learning to cooperate, and be part of a team, winning and losing. Sadly, more than 10,000 children will be diagnosed with some form of cancer this year. Instead of chasing butterflies, these children will be learning about the serious experiences of surgery, chemotherapy, radiation and hospital or clinic visits. Cancer is a devastating disease -- especially in children -- it changes dramatically the lives of entire families and often effects them for many years. Despite the remarkable advances in treatment, cancer is the leading cause of death in children under age fifteen, second only to accidents. This is why we strongly support this foundation because they try to help make the families lives a little easier.
