The Lowelies are Austin's finest (albeit only) Nick Lowe tribute band, performing songs from across the Nick Lowe musical universe. Several people have said nice things about us:
"they’re terrific!"
- John Aielli, Aielli Unleashed, 90.5FM KUT
"RECOMMENDED – Nick Lowe Tribute Night [at] Hole in the Wall...Asleep at the Wheel spitfire Elizabeth McQueen kicks things off, followed by...The Lowelies"
- Jim Caligiuri, The Austin Chronicle
“No stranger to Austin, Lowe has been making stops here for decades. (He even has his own local tribute band, The Lowelies.)"
- Wes Eichenwald, The Austin American-Statesman

About Nick Lowe:
Nick Lowe is best known for "Cruel To Be Kind," a moderate hit in the mid-1980's. But for those who know a bit of music history, The Jesus of Cool's influence is surprisingly deep and wide. He produced Elvis Costello's first few albums. He and Dave Edmunds were the bad-boy genius pubrockers of Rockpile. He was Johnny Cash's son-in-law. He formed the supergroup Little Village with John Hiatt, Ry Cooder, and Jim Keltner. He released a zillion solo albums, all of which include amazing pop masterpieces.
Nick Lowe has touched a million small corners of the music universe, and this band, The Lowelies, offers you lovingly chosen selections from that universe. What do we sound like?
Think: "Cruel to Be Kind"
Think: "(What's So Funny 'bout) Peace, Love & Understanding"
Think: "I Knew the Bride (When She Used to Rock 'n' Roll)"
Think: I'd better get my ass to see this band!
