The Lunar Funk Theory has been playing music for about 5 years. The band started out with Lee, Shafer, Ben and Aaron. They starting playing at farm parties and eventually slid into the bar sceen. After about a year, they lost the drummer and then added Tom Krumbach, someone a freind of the friend knew...Turned out to be a great fit, he has played with the Lunar Funk for about 3 and some years now.
The Lunar Funk Continued with their bar ventures and started playing mini festivals, mostly in the Sioux Falls area. Actually they picked up Angie B. @ a bar show playing the hand drums. Another year passed and they then lost their guitar player. The search for a new one left the Lunar Funk in limbo for a little while. They played a few shows with a fill in guitar player named Emily Miller untill they then came across a perfect fit, Matthew Summers, who actually played saxiphone too.
Finally the Lunar Funk was a set 5. There work has finally paid off. This summer was their time to shine. They booked two festivals @ Harmony Park and also played the Hemp Hoe Down, Party in the Park and have played with many well know bands in area including, Wookiefoot, GodJohnson, DownLow, Medeski Martin and Wood, and many others.
This is only the beginning for the Lunar Funk Theory. The band has total commitment and a vibe together that every band looks for. Not to mention all any of them wants to do is make music. You will definitly be seeing the Lunar Funk Theory for a very long time.
so I know this is a lil late but I just got the privilege of hearing your 420 show on CD and man what a gnarley show! Kudos a couple months late and way bitch'n shout out to your neighbors.... that was cool:) F*^'* em for sure! :)
