NOTICE/CURRENT STATE: The Lust I Seek is currently on a break.
Welcome to the official The Lust I Seek site on Myspace. Make sure to check out ever once in a while for possible new material or gig dates.
The story of The Lust I Seek is not one of the most interesting ones. It simply begins with two guys of similar views (namely, Wuorinen and Pekkala) chatting by beer about forming a band that plays emotional metal and continues through rehearsals and demo records to this point where we now stand. Few milestones have been planted along the road with the first release Where Shadows Grow Silent (2003) being the first one. At that point the band was looking for it's own sound and style, as every beginning group, but the core of the music was clear. It was sad and filled with anguish. Release gathered few good reviews around the globe, most of the time from anywhere else, but Finland, which is the homeland of the band. By the time of that release the second guitarist, Suhonen, had only just joined the group so his efforts play lesser role on the first demo.
On the second release Serpent Scripts (2004) Suhonen was clealry a part of the band and the group had really evolved with their playing skills. This release gathered more and better reviews that the first one and was from every aspect closer to personal and unique style that The Lust I Seek still tries to achieve. The melancholy and doomy riffs still played great role, but this time they were accompanied by much more aggressive parts and more gothic metal influences. It is interesting mixture of different genres, but it still maintains it's own melodic and sad mood. Suhonen and Pekkala wrote songs that they should never be ashamed of. On the lyrical concept this release was way more mature and deeper mixing poetry and strong sentences with gothic aesthetics. In every aspect this release had so much more.
As for the future, split release with Funeral Planet will be the next bigger move containing two songs from our side. And next release might not be too far either. Depending on how everything goes. Not as planned, that's for sure. But none can see the future, so we will return here to write down how things went when we know better. Until then, stay tuned for the mark of the vampiric legion!

::NEWS::
07.01.2009:
Once again, almost year since any news on this site. Mainly because my activity online would be greater. Anyway, the band has been rehersing on new songs and we've been planning to hit studio during this month to records four new songs and possibly one extra slice for internet distribution only. We will inform you when we ourselves get our hands to some more info.
25.04.2008:
I must apologize for this huge, huge delay on the upkeep of our Myspace profile. That, among many other things, have been getting way too less attention on my behalf. From here on, I try to keep you informed.
Withered Ones has been released and two of records' four songs can be heard here. Hope you like them. Also planning to hit studio again this summer. We have material that's heavier and way more aggressive than stuff shown here, so all you who like your metal with huge balls of steel, keep up.
Be seeing you!

3.10.2007:
Withered Ones has been delayed numerous times for various reasons. But, now it seems that we will be able to release it within few weeks. So, here is two songs for you to listen to. enjoy!
--
11.1.2007:
Long time since anything worth reporting. Recording and mixing of Withered Ones is complete. Release date is still open, but we hope we will have new stuff to sell at our next gig at Hotelli Puustelli, Alavus on 16.2.2006.
---
22.4.2006:
We are sad to announce that our long time bass player Antti Ojala has left the band. Main reason was that he simply did not feel interest towards this kind of music anymore. There were no personal grudges or disagreements between him and the rest of the band, this was simply because he ran out of inspiration. We wish the best of luck for him.
And at the same date we announce that we are looking for bass player, obviously. If you feel interest towards this offer, feel free to contact us.
---
05.3.2006: ANCIENT will be released at 24.3.2006. At the same date we have show at Hotelli Puustelli, alavus, with Secteron. Albums will be sold there. Hellcome, W.
---
26.1.2006: The split with Funeral Planet is delayed once again. For what I know their recording systems went down and hence no recordings will take place for a while. However, we have decided to push the split further into the future and release EP containing songs originally meant for the split.
Ancient EP will be released as soon as we get all things set properly. More news will be coming forth on this. As for the split, we'll have to wait and see how and when will be it's time and what songs we will feature on that. Meanwhile, we wish all the best for Funeral Planet and hope they will get their systems fixed as soon as possible. Keep it up, W!
---
22.12.2005: The recordings of the split is almost done from our part. The song titles for will be Carpathian Desire and Faces in the Mist, which is remade from Silent Light, the ending track of first release. For the Funeral Planet I have little information, but if memory serves well it might be that they hit the studio at the start of the next month. We will inform on this as soon as something's certain.
We are also looking for possible gig places and hope to get few cathes. Possible dates will be seen here, as well as in our official website (www.thelustiseek.cjb.net) which is also going to go through some facelift in the near future. Stay tuned and make sure to check our show if we arrive near you.
Best of wishes for the forthcoming year, W.
