Our first show ‘Lux and the Dragon’ was inspired by and produced for our unique local free festival, the Dragon fiesta in the Alpujarras. Over 50 people, adults, teenagers, and children living locally came together to stage a fairy tale based around a magic lamp apparently fulfilling your wishes. This turns out to be an illusion so the characters in the story wake up to the simple reality that true happiness is to be found in all of us, the light is within! .. .. Our second show ‘The Quest’ is based on a journey exploring empowerment of women and thus mankind, on reclaiming our way in the world we are living. Based on Arthurian mythology, this show featured a huge cast and many directors! The Quest has now been condensed into a smaller version that can be toured more easily. .. .. Lux’s third show ‘A Drop in the Ocean’ (see video clip above for extracts) is a vibrant 20 minute multimedia spectacle, including all our most committed performers and their children. It expresses the idea that every drop is vital in the great sea of life and therefore all of us live for a reason, whilst simultaneously questioning the destructive effect of individual expression through consumerism. Giant puppets and outlandish characters such as Coca Cola woman or Miss ConSumer rock the stage. Through the show we realise that it is up to us to take the future into our hands! This show we toured very successfully throughout 2007 and 2008. .. .. The ‘Drop in the Ocean‘ Dance: We try to get our audiences involved in our shows, so we teach a simple dance routine that anyone can learn (at festivals we run workshops) . The Drop in the Ocean Dance is now out there, growing into a river, so keep passing it on! You can be a star too! .. .. Our latest show: THE PRESENT, combining theatre with projections, dance and having-it music, much passion and professionalism. .. This is a great 15min show about freedom, friendship and being conscious. .. The baggage we carry around with us. .. How to transform it? .. WE REALLY LOVE THIS SHOW! .. .. Eure Aufführung war ganz wunderbar. Ich habe sie sehr genossen. Der Abend hatte eine stimmige Choreographie und alle Beteiligten waren unglaublich engagiert und mit Herz und Seele und ihrem ganzen Können bei der Sache. Gleichzeitig war die Darbietung aber so locker, dass es nie gezwungen wirkte – wie es i.d.R. bei klassischen Theater oder Varietéstücken ist. Es gab den permanenten Impuls der Improvisation, des unperfekten, des Sich-selbst-nicht-nur-ernst-nehmens, der nicht nur die Stufe zwischen Akteur und Gast spielerisch zu überwinden vermochte, sondern auch ein menschliches und sehr sehr liebenswertes Bild auf Euch geworfen hat. Für solche Erfahrungen, wie mit Euch, liebe und lebe ich (in) diesem Veranstaltungszirkus. Für mich sind solche Begegnungen wie mit Euch kostbare Momente im manchmal doch auch recht routinierten und eingefahrenen Alltag auf dem RAW.tempel zwischen Parties, Konzerten und anderen Events.     ..Lux is a dynamic collective of musicians, performers, dancers and puppeteers from all over Europe, based in the Alpujarras, Southern Spain. Over the past 3 years Lux has produced three major shows by blending modern music, theatre, dance, acrobatics, spectacular sets and costumes, huge puppets, fire, with a cast of anything up to a hundred people. This combination of talents and energies as well as influences and styles all harnessed into telling stories with a clear and positive message make Lux unique. You won’t have seen or heard anything quite like it! .. .. All the sets and costumes used in the Lux shows are made in our solar powered sewing room, using recycled and reclaimed materials. This directs our artistic style and helps us to walk our eco conscious talk. .. .. At the heart of Lux is the band EAT PRUNES, producing all the music in our own solar powered studio in the Alpujarra mountains. Eat Prunes assemble beats, loops and samples with super fat bass lines in a breaks/drum’n’bass style, and play this live with keyboards, flutes, percussion, and beautiful female vocal harmonies and raps: ‘Eat Prunes! Start a movement, write tunes for positive attunement, unblock your dams it’s quite important, State of the world? Room for improvement! Prunes=plums. Higher than any other fruit in Vit B2 – for mental health and emotional balance!’ .. .. Eat Prunes aim at nothing less than changing the world by filling peoples’ heads with positive affirmations.
