Lynnster Me too, or at least ticketed. RT @swiftkaratechop if the internet was real i would of been beaten up for loitering a long time ago Posted 10 hours ago from Twitter view more
So, I ran a big site elsewhere for almost a decade before moving the only thing that ever got updated (the blog, then known as The Graffiti Wall) over to mirror on Blogger & LiveJournal permanently in January 2006 (and moved again to WordPress in December 2006), and got hassled into opening a MySpace account so here I am. I'm a lifelong music junkie - Hoodoo Gurus, Replacements, and Dig probably being the top three, among thousands of others. Bandwise, did time as the token chick singer here and there in Nashville and Memphis. Fanwise, have had a couple of Replacements and Hoodoo Gurus pages on the Web for over ten years, so some of you may know me from there, and I also ran an American sister website to the Australian site for Australian band The Monarchs, Brad Shepherd of the Hoodoo Gurus' later band, until they disbanded a few years ago. Nowadays web-wise, I'm managing the official MySpace profiles for The Monarchs, Fun Things, & Super K and (still) working on new stand-alone websites for The Monarchs & Fun Things (clones, I need clones...). Check out The Monarchs' MySpace to see the only live footage of the 'Narks in existence, pretty stoked about that and it's awesome! My most recent pet band projects I promote are Scarce (Boston), Muzz Shepherd's (Monarchs, Screaming Tribesmen, Fun Things) current bands The Ride Ons & the re-formed Hitmen (Sydney, Australia), and my good friends & homeboys in The Dirty Works (Knoxville) - all vastly different, all great & fab, check 'em all out! All music is good music!
Last Week's Top Trax on Radio Lynnster...
Born in Memphis, raised in upper Northwest TN, college in the Nashville/'Boro area with extended stays in Knoxville/Maryville, back in Memphis a long time now, will be relocating back around Knoxville at some point in the next several years and likely for good. I grew up Episcopalian and a DuBose veteran - if you know what that means, I would absolutely love to hear from you.
Other minutiae - I used to run a BBS in Memphis too and have been online, like, FOREVER (mid-'80s, that's how forever). I also admin a very large website but that's classified info (no, it's not illegal). Other than that, nowadays I pretty much mostly just read other people's blogs, play online games too much, & forget to answer e-mail.
I first wrote what was here like three years ago or something and I don't suppose much has changed. After getting badgered to death, I mainly set up a profile here to touch base with and hoping to run across some friends both old and newer, and hopefully stay in touch a little better, because I'm lousy at it sometimes, so this has sort of been exercise in efficiency. Sometimes it works, sometimes not so much. I love the fact that I've been able to reconnect with so many folks from the old indie music scene tho, and meet many many new ones over the last several years, so that part's cool. Hope to keep hearing from old pals and indie music scene allies, and lost Graffiti souls, as well as whoever else.

THE FINE PRINT ON THAT 'MATS GRAPHIC!!!
That way cool and sometimes animated Replacements graphic up there to your left was created by and is (c) 2009 Mike Monello and has been used by me with direct permission from the creator for around ten years. If you use it, give credit where credit is due! Thanks!
The World According to Paul Westerberg...
"The ones who love us best are the ones we'll lay to rest
And visit their graves on holidays at best
The ones who love us least are the ones we'll die to please
If it's any consolation, I don't begin to understand..." (Paul Westerberg)
Oh my god!! I am glad you are getting better. That is nasty shit to be having. I just have an evil cough and snotty nose. Makes me sound like a wimp compared to what you went through.

HAHA, yeah, it's all coming back to me now, spent a bunch of dough online, left some stupid comments, I imagine if a few more hours I'll be doing the same, oops!!!
Whoa, yeah, you are too busy, being a few days late on the Steve Foley thing. Anyway, hope all else is super happy and stuff with you, sorry, I'm a man of confused words on the eve of my 3 day weekend with a few hundred beers in me.
I know I tried to say to that guy that you were blogging for more people than just us. That's not really censorship anyway. That is a very cool article and I've sent it too a lot of readers. Thanks, Lynn
