The Machine plays heavy, psychedelic rock in a powertrio
tradition. The current line-up exists since October 2007.
Shortly thereafter, they released their debut album "Shadow
of the Machine" on their own in December 2007. This record
marked their entry into the stonerrock scene and gained
some modest international interest.
The follow up, "Solar Corona", was released early 2009.
For this release, the band signed a deal with the German
Nasoni Records and it's available on both CD and (coloured)
2LP vinyl. "Solar Corona" features long, partially instrumen-
tal tracks which contain a lot of diversity. These Dutch guys
offer you straightforward heavy riffing, melodic passages,
atmospherical soundscapes and an overall touch of
psychedelia.
When playing live, The Machine regularly stretches songs
by incorporating improvised jams in their sets. Everything’s
done with a passion and chemistry, that a lot of contem-
porary rock is missing. The band is already writing new
material for a next album, recordings are scheduled for the
last weeks of 2009. The Machine has some (inter-)national
shows/tours in their scheme.
Some remarks about our music:
The next band is causing lots of enthusiasm – quite rightly
for the three guys from The Netherlands, called THE
MACHINE. They are drawing circles with a droning, rolling
bass in KYUSS fashion at the outdoor stage and in a very
short time, a lively and large crowd is under their spell.
This is especially due to the truly amazing guitar skills
of the singer, who plays in a frenzy and delivers some
sensational playing on his guitar. The eyes and mouths
of the older men and women among the audience are
wide open, some even forget to ignite their stuff to smoke.
With an appearance of a nice school band (in any case
due to floral, orange shorts and sneakers), the guys in the
band expose themselves as true artists, and you can be
sure that, in whatever form, we can expect to hear more
from this group. A certain playfulness is given by the
fluid guitar playing, this in contradiction to the mammoth
riffing fitting in the pieces – including the wonderfully
modified PINK FLOYD cover “Set the Controls for the Heart
of the Sun”, which shows the great talent of the threepiece.
People just sit back on the field in the afternoon heat
and enjoy this great show full of energy and passion –
because that in fact is what you can see and hear the
group do. In short, one of our absolute favourites at the
Yellowstock Festival. - Review of our live show at the Yellowstock Festival (BE)

If The Machine were a woman I would do anything for her!
I've been waiting for this one, and finally it arrives...
The Machine are back!!!
In 2007 The Machine made their awesome first album
"Shadow of the Machine" and I almost immediately fell in
love with the band and it was like injecting fuel right into
your veins, rigorous and almost godlike. There were lots
of great Dutch bands back in the days, once again The
Machine shows the masses that the Netherlands are still
going strong.
I bow and respectfully welcome "Solar Corona", album
no.2 by The Machine. The unstoppable psychedelic fuzz
machine have returned and just like a magician swinging
his magic stick these Dutch rulers create magic for the
second time. It's hard to pick a specific track as the best
song on this seven track masterpiece because the whole
album is a magnificent journey into time and space.
Along with the guitars, bass and drums there are also djem-
behs and gong included in the arsenal. "Solar Corona" is
more multiple than the previous album with less vocals and
more jams, experimental deep dives and hypnotizing bluesy
riffings. Mix the best from the late 60's with early 70's stuff,
add some desert rock and you get the exact formula. This
concept is timeless and lasts forever!
The first one out is the title track Solar Corona, it starts off
with a typical Kyuss riff quickly explodes like a gigantic acid
bomb with furious guitar solos, heavy bass lines and great
drumwork. Interstellar Medium, the fourth song on this piece
of plastic is based on djembehs backed by relaxed sound-
scapes and reminds me of Lamp of the Universe.
"Solar Corona" is mainly instrumental but not all of it. Davy,
Hans and David have done a great job on the album and I
just love the sound of the warm and dusty guitars it, gives
me a hard on, shit embrace! ...this is art made by true
artists. If you digg Electric Magma, Colour Haze, Datura
and Gomer Pyle you will love the remarkable work of The
Machine. This is a good year for the stoner rock scene.
Many new good bands pop up like mushrooms and i am
curious about what will happen the rest of the year and
with gold nuggets like Solar Corona makes my life a
pleasant feeling. Feel free and unleash the herbs! - Review of our second album "Solar Corona"

"They seem to appear out of nothing, existing since
September 2006 this Dutch trio delivers a debut album to
the market one year later. An album of which any other
band could only dream of for their entire carreer.
Influences on the sound of The Machine are unmistakable
Colour Haze, Jimi Hendrix Experience, Blue Cheer and
related late 60's jam-rockers. Just add the optimal concep-
tion of a raw production and lots of groove and you'll get a
very good idea of the sound of this band. This is THE most
important in stonerrock to me and it makes me forget time
and the world around me for one small moment.
Very intoxicating! Recommended!" - Review of our first album "Shadow of the Machine"

Hey The Machine If you have a minute, please come check out the new song Alex Hirsch wrote after reading Einstein's private manuscripts and quoting his memoirs directly. The song is called, The Stormy Seas of Time and features Ken Oak on the Cellos, Bionik on the Drums and Production, and of course, Alex Hirsch on the guitars pianos and singing. And remember, all it takes is 3 little dollars to get any of his full albums at www.keywinsproductions.com.
A fair price for up to 17 songs! Finally, good music that is priced correctly, not another record company rip off!
