Soul Searching CD release September 15 at Harvest Jam 2007!
Rising from the industrial Midwest, The Maji is one of the fastest growing live acts the jam rock scene has to offer. With influences ranging from the Allmans to Zappa, The Maji stir an eclectic pot of alphabet rock-n-roll thats interesting to the palate and satisfying to the appetite.
Formed by Dayton-bred brothers Dino (bass, vocals) and Norman (keys) Dimitrouleas in 2002, The Maji became an established force in Dayton's music scene from the bands inception. The additions of Josh Miller (guitar, vocals) and Rob Brockman (drums, vocals) fleshed out the bands sound to create a landscape rich in inventive improvisiation, psychedelic rock and soulful blues.
The Maji have shared the stage with some of the jam scenes best and brightest bands including Umphreys McGee, Tea Leaf Green and ekoostik hookah, and are the founders and hosts of the popular Harvest Jam, a three-day festival held in Ohio every Fall.
The Maji are busy in the studio again, recording their second album, tentatively titled, Soul Searching. And, as always, are working hard to bring you the Harvest Jam to be held on September 15th at The Funky Bean Farm in Yellow Springs.
