The Majors sont revenus au printemps 2005 après une longue période d'abstinence. Christer, Magnus et Jacob sont des amis d'enfance et ca fait bien longtemps qu'ils font de la musique. Le groupe est complété par un quatrième compagnon : Gabriel. Tous ensemble, ils ont investi le sous-sol de la maison de Magnus pour y enregistrer leurs morceaux. Ils ont mis un peu de temps avant d'y arriver. Entre les contraintes professionnelles la vie familiale, ils n'ont pu que répéter qu'une fois toutes les trois semaines, au mieux... Ensuite, tout s'est accéléré, et The Majors ont trouvé leur voie musicale, notamment avec la présence d'un pianiste à leurs côtés. Ils ont alors composé soigneusement des morceaux variés dont les influences sont nombreuses : les spectacles musicaux de Broadway, les cabarets Berlinois, le country, le jazz.... pour finir dans une atmosphère pop des plus surprenantes. En octobre 2007, The Majors ont fait leur tout premier concert dans une minuscule salle de Stockholm, suivi par une bonne dizaine en 2008. Fin 2008, après avoir été repéré par Stillmuzik, The Majors décident de réenregistrer des chansons avant de les diffuser. Une belle découverte.
The Majors sprang out of spring 2005 as childhood friends and long time musical companions Christer, Magnus and Jakob got together again after years of abstinence. Completed with Gabriel, The Majors geared up and made Magnus’ basement their rehearsal and studio. Due to everyday obstacles such as work and family life, progress was slow at first with rehearsing only once every three weeks at best. Nevertheless, The Majors soon found their overall musical direction in piano-driven, neatly arranged songs with elements of various influences ranging from Broadway musical show stoppers and Berlin cabaret to latin, country and jazz. Out comes pop, described as both surprising and timeless. In October 2007, in a tiny club in Stockholm, The Majors made their first ever gig, followed by ten or so in 2008. Late fall 2008, after being found on Myspace by Adrien of Stillmuzik, The Majors began re-recording songs for displaying on the site. Througout spring and summer 2009 The Majors will relocate to new head quarters in a 19th century chicken house and start recording new material.
