Makeshift is a hard driving bluegrass gospel group made up of four young men who travel the east coast playing festivals and churches year round. The group started in December of 2005 and has been going strong ever since. Jonathan Buckner brings the lead and harmony vocals to the band as well as playing guitar. Jonathan is from Princeton, WV and has grown us singing and playing in church his whole life. Jonathan writes much of the material that the group preforms. Josh Underwood also brings lead and harmony vocals to the band as well as playing banjo and dobro. Josh makes his home in the mountains of Floyd County, Virginia. Josh has grown up playing his whole life with his family, but now calls the road his home as he takes the talent that God has blessed him with far and wide. Chandler Beavers also sings and plays mandolin for the band. Chandler makes his home in Princeton, WV as well and has grown up playing and singing with various regional bands before joining forces with Jonthan to bring Makeshift to the stage. Jimmy Creed plays bass for the band and makes his home in Floyd County Virginia. Jimmy is clearly one the best young bass players to be found today. His dad plays bass for the legendary Country Gentlemen and his grandfather, Kyle Creed was a well know banjo maker for many years.
All of these guys are blessed with an awsome talent to sing, play, and write songs. God is amazing and continues to amaze us everyday in all of the blessings and opportunities that he bestows upon us.

Ralph Stanley has received many well-deserved honors in the last few years, yet one honor eludes him. While many of their fellow musicians and singers have been recognized by The Country Music Hall of Fame, THE STANLEY BROTHERS have been sadly -- some say criminally -- overlooked.
Jeanie Stanley, youngest daugher of Carter, and fan Kaye Hill have organized an on-going petition to change all that.
"The Country Music Hall of Fame recognizes those persons who have made a significant contribution to the country music field," says Hill. "The Stanley Brothers helped lay the foundation for what we have today. Their names deserve to be listed among greats like Bill Monroe and Flatt & Scruggs, who have already be recognized."
