"They use minimal instrumentation without ever sounding minimalist, wringing more out of guitar, voice, handclaps and drums than many bands get out of a whole stage full of participants...It is about as far from slick as you can get -- an amazing record of what two people can do with love and care and a complete disregard for commercialism.” (Splendid)
Will Scott's new album, GNAWBONE is here!!! The CD is available at CDBaby and other online retailers.
Over three years in the making, GNAWBONE, is Scott's fully-produced studio debut and features a crack team of hand-picked musicians as well as guest performances by Jan Bell, Jolie Holland, Samantha Parton, and Preacher Boy (the album's producer).
Hey there Malarkies, I hope all is well. It's cold, windy, rainy, and getting dark early. Little kids will be wearing dorky little outfits that somehow make them slightly cuter. Explain that. And the Phillies are still playing baseball. Life is grand. Go to the E Conspectu myspace page to hear a classic nugget, "Old Boy." If you like it, I'd love to hear what you think. Otherwise, keep your comments to yourself.
Hey there Malarkies, I just wanted to tell you that I've been listening to your latest record, For Real Now, that you so nicely gave to me way back in December, on an actual stereo. It's great! I hadn't really listened to it because I was familiar with the songs from this myspace page, but let me tell you the production is rich and the performances are strong, yet fragile, like steel? and that the album really benefits from a good listen on the hi-fi, and not, so much, on this LAPTOP. Hope all is well, Tom
we missed you something terrible, so we all chipped in and got you a podcast!!
We're kind of getting the hang of it and this turned out pretty good. its is the CMJ Episode featuring some great bands you maybe havent even heard yet.
OK. So The Malarkies are still the best band in America. These new songs prove that. Would a five hundred thousand dollar money order land me a copy of the new record? I'd be willing. I miss you both. Check out this crazy thing:
