As a 5-piece band, all with completely different music backgrounds, our influences (or those we admire) are many and varied! We'll have to put our heads together and confer, but from our website we've already listed the following:
Paul - Most styles of music, and fave drummers are Buddy Rich and Jeff Porcaro
Jane - Muse, Pink, Jamiroquai, QOTSA, Kings of Leon, The Zutons, Dave Grohl
Emlyn - Still to be confirmed
Andy - From classical, through jazz to goth metal (we'll try to get him to be more specific!)
Marco - Anything and everything from Bach to Evanescence

An evening with the Maniacs is always eclectic and could include tracks by (in no particular order): Pink, Alanis Morissette, Amy Winehouse, Stevie Wonder, Green Day, Lenny Kravitz, Jimi Hendrix, The Police, Aretha Franklin, LaBelle, No Doubt, Bryan Adams, Jet, Republica, Chuck Berry, Corinne Bailey Rae, Scissor Sisters, Charlotte Church, Kylie, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Elton John, Jamiroquai, The Monkeys, Robbie Williams, Spencer Davis Group and many more...!
We think we do a pretty good job of sounding like them all at various points... maybe not in the songs we're meant to, which is no mean feat!
*** NEXT OPEN GIG: Saturday 29 August - The Two Brewers - Hadlow, Kent ***
The Maniacs are an unashamed five-piece covers band. We like to think of ourselves as an alternative pub and function band, focusing on more unusual rock/pop covers, with a few classics thrown in for good measure!
The band has now been performing together (in one form or another) for more than seven years and with three vocalists - and influences from classical through, jazz, rock and beyond – we manage to cover a wide variety of material.
Most importantly, be it an open mic night, wedding, party or business function, a night with The Maniacs is about fun – both for you and for us! We are a band that truly enjoys performing together, which is infectious and we’re told contagious (in a good way!) and is reflected in the feedback from our clients.
