The Manor Studio is operated by myself (Dan Lucas) on the side of Frogholt Manor House, near Folkestone in Kent.
The studio has a nice atmosphere and surroundings for recording, is decorated to a very high standard, and I have energy and a lot passion for what I do. I like recording what I consider to be 'real' bands, there's nothing quite like capturing moments and raw energy that tend to get lost in a lot of modern recordings....
As well as recording and rehearsal facilities I also can offer the following services:
GUITAR/DRUM LESSONS: I am able to teach both instruments from beginner level, to advanced level - I have years of experience as a drummer and guitarist in various touring bands, and a unique approach to the way I teach.
SONGWRITING HELP: Need some outside ideas for your songs? I have a lot of experience within different musical genres, tour experience, record label experience and a varied musical taste. I might be able to make some suggestions for your music when you're having a creative block! I also create drum loops and offer drum, guitar, bass and piano parts. If you have a song that needs any of these instruments, I will record them and play them for you and send you back the finished product. Please call for prices.
MY RECORDING EXPERIENCE: I began recording music at home in around 2001: To start off with I had very little equipment, so for several years I used four-tracks, tape recorders, broken computers and notepad mixers to record various demo's of my solo material and rehearsal recordings of various bands I've been in. In December 2005 I bought all of my current recording equipment and since then have recorded the following at The Manor House:

Aside from the bands above, I have recorded a five song punk covers EP on which I played drums, voice-overs for a cartoon, a spoken-word Pagan ritual, solo material for Adam Bray (several recordings), my own solo material (several recordings), solo material for James Gillett, live rehearsal recordings of various bands, live recordings of Dead Life Portrait, Moesaboa, Lakes, Red Light Runner and plenty more!
Bands can record in the conventional way (drums first with guide guitars through headphones) or I can record drums and guitars live together as the live room is fairly ample in size.
