The Mantra have been around in various forms for almost 5 years now. These guys and gals make sure to be the stand out energetic band of every show, and consistantly bring added flairs to their live performances. Leigh Bursey as the only original member, leads the charge with poetically heartfelt lyrics and a strong Indie Rock influences, pulled from his youth. The addition of Justin Steacy on drums filled out the sound The Mantra was looking for, as well as his new age influnce into the rock scene. Recently, the ever-evolving musical project has added folk performer, Sara Wilkinson to the mix, to bring that last missing piece of the puzzle together. Dean Van Dorsseler and Chad The Man joined the group on guitar and bass, with punk rawk roots, and powerhouse sounds. You can catch these guys playing charity shows in coffee houses across eastern ontario, or rocking large with such acts as: The Holly Springs Disaster, These Silhouettes, Ten Second Epic, Moka Only, Illscarlett, The Black Maria, The Mission District, and many more! They are currently playing/looking for shows to promote their new songs, which will hopefully make-up their forthcoming new record". In addition, both Leigh and Sara play solo shows which often incorporate each other, promoting their solo records Leigh Bursey The Mantra Acoustic: Fear of Drowning, and Shady May.

We're just sending the final product of the new album out for manufacturing and then having our CD release July 11th. We can discuss some shows after that! Thanks for the interest, can't wait to rock some gigs together. :) -Boyce, CFC
