The Market Studios is an independent work space based in Dublin city centre dedicated to providing a locus where artists, curators and writers can meet,work & produce.The studios were opened in January 2008 in the former Visual Artists Ireland headquaters by artists/curators Monica Flynn, Deirdre Morrissey and Claire Behan. Located in the heart of the markets area, just off Capel St, Dublin, the studios provides 23 practitioners in various disciplines with a productive, engaging environment in which to meet & work.
While serving its residents, The Market Studios is also eager to establish itself as a locus for other arts practitioners to gather and engage with. We host a project/gallery space UNIT H which is currently being programmed to show a series of work by international artists as well as creating a platform for a variety of events from a dynamic network of Irish, visual artists. An additional project space may be leased for a range of cross disciplinary performances and presentations.

Exhibition continues until Sun. 19 April, 10am –
6pm daily
Louise Ward’s interest lies in the accidental and the unintentional in
art, and the point at which the artist intervenes with the accidental. She
finds spontaneity and familiarity in random objects, marks and stains in her
everyday environment. In her approach she explores this subtle familiarity
through the use of found objects, sculpture installation, painting,
performance, sound and video.
Amy Walsh is interested in creating work that responds to place and the
everyday. In her current series of work Walsh combines early moving image
and filmmaking techniques with newer digital technologies. She uses multiple
screens, projection, audio and installation to explore narrative and to
stimulate a dialogue with the viewer.
An artist initiated exhibition,
independent of UNIT H curated programme.

www. aliasempire. com has recently gone live and on sign up members can download 'AEmix', a 6 track remixes EP, for free. This includes remixes of our own tracks as well as tracks by Messiah J and the Expert and Cars in Walls. Half of the remixes are by us while the rest have been handled by Philth and Seki, Nina Hynes, and Klass of '83. Each track has its own unique artwork included in the download. Hope to see you on there soon.
