Men have a tremendous contribution to make in the area of exposing, confronting, opposing, and transfroming the sexism of their male peers- and co-creating a world where women and men are safe!

FOUNDER AND ORGANIZER OF THE R.A.P.E. FOUNDATION SIGNS WITH VANILLA HEART PUBLISHING FOR TO DANCE AMONGST THE STARS, A JOURNEY OF HEALING AND HOPE
Seattle, WA, February 1, 2008—Vanilla Heart Publishing is pleased to announce their signing Namid, founder and organizer of The R.A.P.E. Foundation, based in Las Vegas, Nevada, for her book, To Dance Amongst the Stars: A Journey of Healing and Hope.
To Dance Amongst the Stars is written to share the author’s trials and triumphs of surviving and overcoming a lifetime of sexual abuse and abusive relationships, in the hopes that other abused women can find strength and hope in her story.
Namid was born and raised on Long Island, New York. She comes from a small family, and most of her family still resides in NY.
Namid moved to Las Vegas in February 2007, where she continues to reside. She continues her passion for animals working as a licensed veterinary technician and receptionist in Henderson, NV. She lives with her fiancée and 4 cats.
Namid’s book, To Dance Amongst the Stars, and her newly-founded non-profit organization, The R.A.P.E. Foundation, are her personal work and the realization of her dreams to reach out and help other survivors of rape, incest, sexual abuse and sexual assault.
The author says, “I used my own experience to reach out to other rape survivors. The wording may not be the most flowery, but I hope that by reading my experience in going through the healing process, others can begin to heal. I hope that people can draw something good from my experiences.” <
The R.A.P.E. Foundation has A LOT going on, and we need your help for ALL of it! Please help in any & every way possible! Also, let others know what we're doing...I'm sure we can help them as much as they can help us!
1 - Jewelry Party/Fund-raiser on Feb. 23. PLEASE RSVP, spread the word & help us to start to pay for all that we need! If you can't make it, but are still interested in purchasing some jewelry, just let me know. We can always mail out a brochure to you, from which you can order!
2 - Don't forget to sign our petitions & tell others about them! We've got our "grand opening" in April, and I want to blow the media away with the number of signatures we have on them! I cannot do that without your help! http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/create-safe-places-in-ers-for-sexual-assault-victims http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/stop-dolce-gabganas-promotion-of-gang-rape

Dear Flagstaff Community Members and NAU Students,
Join us for a planning meeting to commemorate the Roe vs. Wade decision to legalize abortion on January 22, 1973. We hope to have several events in Flagstaff around this date, and want to work with community members on brainstorming ideas and planning the event(s). Current ideas have included a rally downtown and a forum at NAU.
This is certainly a bad time for NAU students, so we will hold another meeting next week (date and time to be determined) for those who cannot attend this Friday. If neither meeting works for your schedule but you would like to be involved, contact us anyway! We'd love your ideas and input – and need to start planning now before many NAU students and staff/faculty will be away for the next month.
I hope all is well. As the pro-creators of the species, ALL men owe all women a karmic debt. Thanks for hosting such a necessary site and thanks for the gift of your friendship.
Well done on your excellent work in raising awareness about rape and sexism and in combating them. Go team!! Also thank you so much for adding me as a friend. I am honored. :-) I wish you great success in your activism and am proud to support you.
Thanks for your site and for standing up when not enough people do! My heart is open to you and your great mission that will make the world a safer place and men warriors of the spirit not of the flesh. I love your site and messages. Im a SURVIVOR of rape and now reaching to both women as well as men. Please look at the spirit of a man on my site. It was my dedication to men like you.
"I speak for many feminists, not only myself, when I tell you that I am tired of what I know and sad beyond any words I have about what has already been done to women up to this point, now, up to 2:24 p.m. on this day, here in this place.
And I want one day of respite, one day off, one day in which no new bodies are piled up, one day in which no new agony is added to the old, and I am asking you to give it to me. And how could I ask you for less--it is so little. And how could you offer me less--it is so little. Even in wars, there are days of truce. Go and organize a truce. Stop your side for one day. I want a twenty-four-hour truce during which there is no rape.
I dare you to try it. I demand that you try it. I don't mind begging you to try it. What else could you possibly be here to do? What else could this [men's] movement possibly mean? What else could matter so much?"
