With the economy in disarray and a lack of label backing, Southern California band, The Martyrs, refuses to take no for an answer. The band has recently announced via their website that they are putting the fate of their record into the hands of the people. The band feels their music possesses a strong positive message and could help kids through some of life’s tougher times. Bassist Kenney Cruz commented in a recent interview, “unfortunately we can’t get back out on the road until we release these songs, and due to a lack of label support, we’re going to have to finance the whole thing ourselves. The record is ready to go, we just need the money to release it.” In light of this the band has set up a website that fans can donate money directly to the release of the record. All funds sent via www.themartyrsmusic.com will directly help release their debut full-length album entitled, “If We Fall Tonight”..... Just so no one leaves empty handed, the band has set up a series of goals that pay fans back when they donate via the website. Donation options start at just 99 cents and prizes range from MP3’s, to signed CD’s and T-shirts, to fans names being added to the ‘thank you’ section of the record (for a full list of donation options visit http://www.themartyrsmusic.com)..... “The thing about this record is that it’s bigger than just the band. It’s the three of us, and the drummer, and there are a lot of other hands that went into making this…When we did group vocals we had a group of at least 15 people come in and just shout as loud they could.
