Acting. I love being on stage, for whatever reason (although it's probably best for everyone if it's not for singing) but acting has always been my true love. I quite enjoy directing as well though and, well hell! just all aspects of theatre really. I used to write quite a bit too, much less now though, the majority of what I do write is as part of The Complete Tales.
Computer gaming, yes it's sad I know, but I do hope to end with a job designing the damn things, so I'm not *completely* wasting my time.
Other things I love, but haven't done for ages due for whatever reason, are SCUBA diving and paintballing. Nothing has ever given me such a sense of wonder or adrenaline rush as those two have (in that order).
And of course, like everybody else out there, I know there's nothing like just going out with my mates, getting stupidly drunk and dancing myself (very badly) into an early grave.
Музыка
Anything and everything. Rock as a preference really, but frankly, if it's good, I'll like it.
Фильмы
I love films. I just straight out love them, and I've found that it's virtually impossible to not buy any when I go near some shops. I mean just take a look at the list.
But I do have some favourites:
Citizen Kane
Sure, it's a cliché to see it at the top of lists, but there's a bloody good reason for that. Kane is quite frankly the perfect film, and if one more person says 'yeah, but I don't like black and white films', I cannot be held responsible for my actions.
The Incredibles
Admittedly, rather a gear shift coming after Citizen Kane, but Pixar are consistently the greatest story tellers of our era, and there's just something about this film that I love beyond all others. I can wack this on at any time, like most people would play music in the background, and it always brings a smile to my face.
The Shawshank Redemption
Happiest. Ending. Ever.
Brick
From what sounds like the worst idea ever (film noir set in a high school) this film is one you owe it to yourself to see. Just amazing, I was blown away the first time I saw it and the second time was even better. A seriously perfect film, and no, it's not a coincidence that I used the same word to describe Citizen Kane, without any hyperbole this is at that level. GO WATCH!
The Coen Brothers
Not a film, but as a director/producer double act Joel and Ethan Coen have made some of the most original and amazing films that completely turn any genre up on its head, and getting some fantastic performances from some of the best actors around. I wub them *blush*
ТВ
I generally prefer either the big film-like TV series such as Heroes, Band of Brothers and Deadwood or the short, sharp comedy of Scrubs, Futurama and Spongebob Squarepants.
Of course, I'm also a bit of a geek so Stargate, Firefly and Battlestar Galactica ride pretty high on my list of favourites too.
Книги
Catch 22, the Discworld novels (especially the Rincewind ones, I wish he'd get off the incredibly stale, formulaic Guard ones of late), Harry Potter (God yes it's terrible to admit to it in public isn't it?), Philip Pullman's 'His Dark Materials' trilogy and pretty much anything that Neil Gaiman touches, the man is simply brilliant. (My favourite would have to be American Gods, as it introduced me.)
I've also been getting into graphic novels of late, I've been trying really hard (honest) to stay away from the superhero stuff though and stick to high quality, worthy things like Maus (about the Holocaust) and The Sandman (that's the fantasticall written Neil Gaiman series about the Lord of Dreams, not the Spider-Man villain), but the lure of the spandex crowd is sometimes just too tempting!

О себе: I'm a graduate from Manchester Uni, and I'm still in the city now, living in the centre and working for a software company just outside in Warrington.
I absolutely love Manchester, when I left after graduation I couldn't think of anywhere else I wanted to go to when I started looking for work. The people and the places (and the prices!) are just great, and of course, my theatre group was here! An incredibly amateur group for sure, but I always have such a brilliant time with them, I'm really glad to be back.
Btw, writing this in late 2007, so if you're still reading this in a couple of years it just goes to prove what a lazy fuck I am.
For blogging purposes check out my Live Journal page, but really you should be using Facebook instead. By far the most useful of these places, I'm on there most of the time.
There's an 's' below this that according to the HTML just shouldn't be there! I can't figure it out and it's really annoying me. Grr.

Its another Bodog message I am affraid, but it is only to tell you that we are through to the National Final at Manchester Academy 2 on 7th February!!
It is a bit of a school night, but it is Thirsty-Thursday, so if you can make it then that would be absolutely brilliant! Let us know if you have any problems.
