About me:
Randy Cole Sims, Sr. was born January 29, 1964 in Saginaw, Michigan, the oldest of three sons born to Clyde and Betty Sims. He was baptized into Christ in 1976, by the late Brother Robert L. Wiggins, Minister at South Seventeenth Street Church of Christ in Saginaw, Michigan.
Bro. Sims began his ministerial training at a very young age under the tutorship of the late Brothers: Perry Curry, Richard C. Carr, and Robert L. Wiggins. He began preaching in 1982. Recognizing the important need of additional training, he enrolled at Midwestern Christian Institute in Mount Clemens, Michigan in 1996, and received the Associate of Religious Education degree in 1998. On June 2, 2007, Bro. Sims received the Bachelor of Christian Education degree from Midwestern Christian Institute. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Midwestern Christian Institute. On June 7, 2008 after serving as the commencement speaker at M.W.C.I., Bro. Sims was presented with the Honorary Doctorate of Divinity.
In October 1998, Bro. Sims began serving as Minister to the Baldwin Church of Christ in Baldwin, Michigan and served for three successful years. He was invited to serve his home congregation: the South Seventeenth Street Church of Christ in Saginaw, Michigan from March 18, 2001 until his tenure ended September 24, 2006. Bro. Sims next point of service has taken him to Fort Wayne, Indiana as he has begun to labor with the East Chestnut Church of Christ on August 12, 2007.
Randy Cole Sims, Sr. was appointed by Chief Rusty York of the Fort Wayne Police Department as a Police Chaplain on March 5, 2008.
He is married to Debbie Renee Sims and is the Father of five children: Stepheni Dionne Devett, Demetrius DeCole, Schuyler Deron Deshone, Randy Cole II, and Ranada Colette GeMae. Bro. Sims is also the grandparent of three, R’nashia, Travon, and Randi. Thanks and glory be to God that all of the children are members of the Church of Christ!
Randy Cole Sims, Sr.’s desire after all is said and done is that he be remembered just plain and simply as “The Master’s Servant!” (Romans 6:13 & 16) Those that know him regarding his commitment and labor of love for the Lord will attest that he is truly “The Master’s Servant!”
