After several years gigging solo and with various groups, guitar playing singer songwriter Maxime Bolasell brings together his musical aspirations with ‘Maxxximus’. His French origins and the strong influence of afro-american musical culture can be heard in the music and the lyrics where compositions are both in english and French.
‘Bajan Roots & Funky Boots’, the most recent album, combines sounds such as acoustic blues, soul and rock with a fair bit of P-Funk! From song to song you’re courted by an eclectic mix of the sultry sounds of the double bass, seventies wha wha riffs, hints of jazzy hip–hop and all with a live ‘organic groove’.
Après avoir évolué pendant plus de dix ans en solo ou au sein de diverses formations, le chanteur guitariste compositeur Maxime Bolasell, synthétise avec ‘Maxxximus’ toutes ses aspirations musicales ; du blues acoustique, de la soul, du P-Funk, en Français et en Anglais, on entend un peu de ‘tout ça’ dans son dernier album ‘Bajan Roots & Funky Boots’ . On passe d’une ambiance feutrée avec contrebasse et balais à un atmosphère seventies aux riffs wha wha jusqu’à un hip-hop jazzy, le tout joué dans un esprit ‘organic groove’…
