OLD ORDER - ALBUM LAUNCH

The Old Order like to think of themselves as Brisbane’s best 2nd rate band. They’re not being self-deprecatory; they just reckon there’s a lot more fun to be had in the 2nd division. And a lot of goals to be kicked. You don’t have to pretend you’re something you’re not.

The Old Order don’t get their hands grubby tryna cut it with the professionals. They’re reclaiming amateurism as a positive. There’s a lot of bands acting professionally cos they think it’s gonna get them gigs. Well, they’re probably right. But it doesn’t mean they’re gonna be a band worth seeing. Not everyone’s gonna think the Old Order are a band worth seeing but you’ll always know where they’re coming from. The Old Order are coming out:

Coming out Amateur. Amateur and Proud.

The Old Order are pushing at the edges and the boundaries of what’s acceptable, what’s cool, what’s interesting, boring, irrelevant, thought provoking, whatever. Sometimes the boundaries need shifting and sometimes they don’t. The Old Order just keep pushing and pulling, copping their share of blows. They’re not stiff; they’re rolling with the punches.

Maybe they make a difference maybe they don’t. There’s plenty more shots at goal to be had. They might not be accurate all the time but as long as they keep kicking and kicking, they’re gonna keep scoring. Often out of bounds, often out of order but always scoring points.
