About me:
Introducing themeccalounge.com, a writing website for up and coming writers of color all genres and backgrounds from all over the world. Our writing Community is a small and exclusive group, focused on continuing to grow as individual writers while at the same time encouraging the talents of their Mecca brethren.
In addition to the building of strong writing relationships, our website provides information to help not only our registered members but also our visitors. A listing of black owned and operated bookstores throughout the country and Canada, exclusive monthly author interviews, a listing of black owned publishing companies, and much more grace our site. To do our part in promoting unity and providing help for writers of color looking to get more exposure, we network with websites like The Black Poetry Cafe, Poeticnites, GS Poetry, and The Black House, which in all connects over 23,000 writers of color in one place!!
Please visit, tour, then join our Community. Bring creativity, an open mind, desire, and your pens, then share your talent with the rest of the world.
Registering with us resulting in your growth as a writer is free!!
We are interested in networking with writers of all genres, networking with positive people and websites of color to promote unity, promotion of black owned and operated bookstores, and continuing to provide a mature and writing-first atmosphere for our registered Community Members.
We encourage our site visitors and registered members to frequent black owned and operated bookstores in their communities. If you are a bookstore owner and would like to list your bookstore on our website, please email your bookstore name, address, and telephone number to:
bookstore@themeccalounge.com
We are currently seeking to network with mature and positive writing, networking, and other sites for persons of color that focuses on the growth, maturation, and education of their members. If interested, please visit our website or email us at:
Our Radio program broadcasts Sunday nights at 7:30pm central (8:30pm est). Hosted by Lady Chi, and Mike Payne, TheMeccaLounge.com Internet Radio Program brings you exclusive interviews, discussions, live spoken word performances, calls from our listeners, and emails. Our radio program was created for writers/expressionists, spoken work artists, authors, artists, African American bookstore owners, and our registered Mecca Community Members as we want to provide our own way of promoting up-and-coming talent in the literary and art world. This is internet radio for writers the way it should be.
Have recorded Spoken Word performances you want our listeners to hear, or just looking to get your voice heard? Send your .mp3 or .wav files along with your name, track title, any promotional information you may have, and a short bio of yourself to tracks@themeccalounge.com, and you will be contacted by one of our hosts with more information. All genres are welcomed and encouraged!!

I can’t take back what I’ve done in the past Nor can I retaliate on all that’s been done to me, At best I can learn from experiences I’ve had Shake the chains of regret and be free,
The future has its own set of tests and trials So why dwell upon yesterdays woes, My road only changes if I’m willing to change it The door of opportunity is never closed.
I must free up my psychological arms To make space for better things to come I should dispose of the junk from the past And seek the source where all natural treasures come from.
We are the wardens of the prison in our minds Condemned by guilt, regret and sorrow, But I stay at peace, when I learn to release- Yesterday, and appreciate the hope of tomorrow!
Comin' thru to say hello* Much love to all people who make up Mecca. Lady Chi & Mike: fabulous duo on blogtalk! Keep doing what you are doing; it works well :-)
As I've said many times before, it's all love when I come into your house! I do have a bone to pick with you though. Lol. Although I'm a product of the midwest, I've gotten tired of the lectures about the pop/soda issue. You and I both know what it is. It'll always be pop! KEEP YOUR EYES AND EARS OPEN. I will be making a HUGE announcement soon!
