Sounds Like
As a random audience member stated...'creepy', and although that was not our goal, we'll take it as a compliment. because that sounds better than 'distorto, industrial folk-ness, with a twist of rock'. or some other sad attempt at creating a genre.

"a duo that unloads four barrels of heavy and gothic blues-based thunder" - Tim Finn, KC Star
Somewhere in a haze of dark, trance rhythms, chaotic, and angular structures lies MEDICINE THEORY. Formed in December of 2006, with no particular direction in mind, Jeff Irvine and Tyson Schroeder (guitars/drums) continue a decade and a half collaboration.
Pointedly dark with a sharp sense of humor, the band touches on multiple influences and sparks of artistic whimsy. Never becoming too ‘art for arts sake’ as to be aloof, but at the same time avoiding the pitfalls of kitsch and vapid pop. MEDICINE THEORY balances, straddles, barely hangs on with a mixture of The Swans, Jawbox, Tigerlillies, and Henry Miller.
