Mélange were born in 2006. Ivo Oliveira in lead guitar, Rui Guerra in vocals and piano, Rafael Ripper in bass and Luís Gonçalves at the drums. The roots of this gathering were the will to make thematic conceptual works. A book, a film or even the endeavour of simple daily life could be the starting gun. The musical approach of all these horizons took the band for almost a year in musical and visual experiments. These are the two major elements in the Mélange universe and it gives full meaning to the band’s name-“Mélange”-which means “mixture” in French. The choice for the first piece has been oriented to “Loss” and its inevitable occurrence in everyone’s life as when someone looses a friend or even when one looses himself. The recreation of such a theme has been put out by Mélange in the mini-album called “The Waver”. “The Waver” portraits the inner drama of someone who have submerged in the process of loss, from its downward spiral to the reconstruction of himself. Mélange are now interested in composing music and “soundtracking” images of their own as well of those from other artists that are willing to participate. One example is the collaboration between Mélange and designer Bruno Simões who had created the band’s first video and had Mélange pieces featuring as a soundtrack in his short movie “Triangular”. This is one of the goals of the project, that is, to create an artistic network which can fuse a variety of different artistic fields (Literature, painting) into a single lead concept. “Photograma” is the dawn of such a project and is currently in a developing state. The band has now a different formation with more musicians: one more keyboard player, rhythm guitar, percussion, back vocals and a Vj. With new themes in the forge Mélange are planning to play live through 2007 and to release the second single and video-“The Waver”. At the end of the year Mélange will start pre-producing its first long-play.

Dia 4 de Abril a festa segue com reggae, dub step e drum&Bass com os melhores djs nacionais de Drum&bass Nuno Forte, Dinis, Riot, Alx, Johnny mais os soundystems Fakambareggae, No Joke, Big Badda Boom e Concrete Jungle!!! A decoração promete ser arrasadora com os Dancing Foot e o vj X em ambos os dias!!.. Night Bus da Carris grátis do Marquês e do Bairro Alto para Alcântara de 30 em 30 minutos das 22h até às 5h.
A organização do Lisbon Underground comprometeu-se em indemenizar-nos pelo cancelamento dos eventos e apresentaram as devidas desculpas.
