Sounds Like
We sound like the ideological intersection between early Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Magnetic Fields, the Beatles, Phish, and Woody Guthrie. Except when we don't.
The Melatones are Bay Area rock.
Anthony Gregory writes songs, plays bass guitar, and sings. Lewis Ames writes songs, plays guitar, and sings. James DeVera plays drums, sings, and contributes creatively as well. The three have been playing together since 1996. There is simply nothing like a live Melatones experience.
The Melatones are currently working on their first two full-length albums. They will launch their regular schedule of live performances very soon. In the meantime, plenty of live material -- raw, somewhat flawed but true -- is available at our newly rehashed web site, www.melatones.com.
We have recorded a ten-year-anniversary version of 'A Television Christmas,' a band classic from way back in the day, with a new arrangement by Anthony including trombones (played by Lewis), rich choir harmonies, and more. We have also paired it with Anthony's animation from eleven years ago, updated with snazzy effects.
