The Merchants of Cool came together in 2001 out of a love of 60's, 70's and 80's guitar rock by bands such as the Beatles, Rolling Stones and Tom Petty. Originally a five piece, the group became a quartet in 2003 and hasn't looked back since.
The Merchants have opened for many notable acts such as the Charlie Daniels Band, Almann Brothers, 38 Special, The Alarm, Def Leppard and The Smithereens. They have also played some of the top events and venues in the D.C./Baltimore Area such as the Power Plant Live, Hard Rock Live, Nissan Pavilion, State Theatre, National Zoo, Army 10 Miler Race and Celebrate Fairfax.
