The Meta Accord is a high energy Instrumental Funk/Fusion band based out of Rochester, New York. Jeremy Laursen, the composer/guitarist for The Meta Accord uses the compositional skills of jazz and progressive rock and combines it with fast paced danceable rhythms. This combination turns heads and moves feet all night.
The band formed in April 2009 with Jeremy Laursen: composer/guitarist, Danny Roelle: Drums, and Paul Towsley: Bass. Before they learned their first song together, or had their first rehearsal, they had their first show. From the first beat The Meta Accord had established a very danceable groove with swirling sounds through intense improvisation. After a few more rehearsals The Meta Accord had another gig and showed up with a full nights worth of music. A few months later they were joined by Danny Mark on woodwinds. Now as a quartet the Meta Accord is honing its ability to blend writing, dancing, and improvisation.
Typically we ARE the opener, haha...the only thing I could think of would have been Water Street this Saturday with U.B.F., but again, we're doing the Club Side ala when we did the Max Creek show, so we kinda are the opener, in a manner of speaking...
