The Story : Mark Bush is a singer-songwriter with a passion for performing. This Indie-Aggressive Acoustic Rocker attacks his music head on, layering intensely powerful vocals with a percussive acoustic sound rare and often unseen in the modern singer-songwriter. Known as Mark’s Midnight Carnival Band, he delivers the hard and the soft, the electric and the unplugged, the up and the down seamlessly. "Someone once described my music," Mark says, "as being all around you and inside of you, all at the same time. As if it surrounded and filled you simultaneously. I am not sure what they meant by it, but I love the imagery it brings to my mind when I think of it.” Mark began writing and performing when he was 14. Now 32, Mark feels he is best represented live. And I would have to agree with him. Whether it is the ultra-seductive “Remember Me,” the make you wanna move “Moon Song,” or the fan favorite “That Girl,” Mark knows how to pull his audience into his music. No song is long enough or can be played too often. And those are just the Mark Bush originals. With the odd cover thrown in here and there, everyone is sure to find something in his performances to sing along with. Most often heard locally at The First & Main Bar, there is no reason you should be staying home when Mark’s Midnight Carnival Band is playing. From Miles Davis to Phantom Planet, from Dave Mathews to Radiohead, and somewhere in between it all you get a bit of Cindi Lauper, Mark fuses a sound that is unique, but at the same time familiar and most of all memorable. With influences ranging from all genres and periods of music, he moves effortlessly from one to the other. Formerly from Austin, Texas, now living in Pueblo West, Colorado, Mark is sure to catch the attention of everyone who comes within earshot of his music. So set your TiVo to record tonight’s episode of Deadliest Catch, tell the babysitter you won’t be home early, and get ready to RAWK! Mark’s Midnight Carnival Band is about to perform.
