Krampus, and Monsters Everywhere!,
pixie particularly adores the lyrics of Pete Wentz, Max Bemis, Gerard Way, Wil Francis, Matt Skiba, Mark Greaney, and Davy Havok. [Hence, the "emo" part.]
Oh yeah, and... Jack Daniels, Johnny Walker, Grain alcohol, Popov Vodka (in the plastic bottle), $5.99 red wine, and the cheapest beer at the closest gas station or bodega in relation to where we're playing.
Years ago, pixie came up with a name for a band, The Midnightmares. She and Matt talked back then about making music, but for various reasons, it never happened. The time wasn't right, other people were in the way, things like that... but in the fall of 2008, none of that was an issue, and over many bottles of wine (or whatever else was around) and while watching horror movies of dubious quality, the two started writing songs. Realizing there may be something to this whole thing, they called up James right before Christmas and got him on board. Soon after, on a night when drunkenly wandering parties and bars in Port Chester and Greenwich made perfect sense, Brian came on as drummer and the rest is history.
The band's first practice was in January 2009. Their first show was February 20, 2009. How did that work? Don't ask us, we have no idea. It just did.
Since then, the band has played with some amazing bands, including Planeside, Miles and Minutes, The Boardlords, The Jaws, The Symbionts, The Pink Slips, 76% Uncertain, CIA, Shangk,King Sexy, St. Bernadette, Singing Bridges, Nasty Disaster, and Mantyhose. And there's more to come.
The songs up here were recorded live at Studio B in Eastchester, NY. We're going to record some official stuff this summer, work on a video, and do all of those awesome band things that bands do.

It is full of interest. It has noble poetry in it; and some clever fables; and some blood-drenched history; and some good morals; and a wealth of obscenity; and upwards of a thousand lies.
Mark Twain - Letters from the Earth
When one reads Bibles, one is less surprised at what the Deity knows than at what He doesn't know.
- Mark Twain's Notebook
...a God who could make good children as easily a bad, yet preferred to make bad ones; who could have made every one of them happy, yet never made a single happy one; who made them prize their bitter life, yet stingily cut it short; who gave his angels eternal happiness unearned, yet required his other children to earn it; who gave is angels painless lives, yet cursed his other children with biting miseries and maladies of mind and body; who mouths justice, and invented hell--mouths mercy, and invented hell--mouths Golden Rules and foregiveness multiplied by seventy times seven, and invented hell; who mouths morals to other people, and has none himself; who frowns upon crimes, yet commits them all; who created man without invitation, then tries to shuffle the responsibility for man's acts upon man, instead of honorably placing it where it belongs, upon himself; and finally, with altogether divine obtuseness, invites his poor abused slave to worship him! - Mark Twain: No. 44, The Mysterious Stranger
Christianity came into existence in order to lighten the heart; but now it has first to burden the heart so as afterwards to be able to lighten it. Consequently it shall perish.
