Experiencing the Mighty Clouds of Joy is more than just a musical encounter. As deeply inspiring as they are terrifically entertaining, the “Clouds” are a five-man journey into one of the richest, most vibrant veins of American music, and a window into the very essence of the Gospel Quartet legacy.
Those are fairly fancy words for what the group’s lifetime lead singer, Joe Ligon, thinks of as simply a calling that chose him, rather than vice versa. “Some people are just born to sing,” he says. “And if you’re one of those people, and you do it long enough, it grows on you until you can’t imagine doing anything else. That’s the Clouds in a nutshell. I was born into a Gospel family. My dad was a singer, and his dad was a preacher. This was always just what I did.”
See the Legacy...
Anyone suspecting that a calling enduring nearly a half-century would inevitably lose some of its early impetus and excitement, need only spend an hour with the Clouds’ newest release, Movin’, to have that notion dispelled, forever and ever…amen.
“We’re more passionate about what we’re doing now than we’ve ever been,” says Joe, emphatically. “When we first started recording—46 years, and 37 releases ago—most Gospel writers just weren’t digging as deep as they are now. It’s a new day, and they’re writing more from the Word, with more substance and a deeper message—and a lot more of a praise message. I listen to Movin’ and I’m excited, because I know it’s going to inspire people—young and old—like nothing we’ve done before.”
That’s quite a statement coming from the leader of a group that—with career sales of over a million units—is the top-selling Gospel quartet of all time. The Clouds singular résumé also includes performances at an unprecedented number in heralded venues from the White House, Radio City Music Hall, Madison Square Garden, Carnegie Hall and the unofficial “Shrine of Soul Music,” the famed Apollo Theater.
The Mighty Clouds of Joy have been sought out to perform and tour with a veritable monarchy of musical legends, including the Rolling Stones, Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Ray Charles, Luther Vandross, and Paul Simon. Their trophy case is filled with three Grammy Awards, and a daunting array of nearly every music award given—many received on multiple occasions—and including, most recently, the Allstate James Cleveland Lifetime Achievement Award, presented to them at the 2007, nationally broadcast, Stellar Awards.
But set aside the accolades, awards and achievements—formidable as they are—and the music of ever-mighty Clouds stills speaks for it self.
It’s been said that a boast is not a boast if one can back it up, and from the first backbeat to the final fade, Movin’ validates Joe’s excitement with one great song after another. Produced by longtime “genius of the mix,” Sanchez Harley—who evoked fire and flair from the group its last time out, on the chart-topping In The House of the Lord—the new album find the Clouds not only Movin’, but in higher gear than ever.

Father God, Your Word, tells us to delight ourselves in You (Psalms37:4Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He will give you the desires and secret petitions of your heart.)we desire that Your Will be done in these last days, help us to let go, of thinking that we have any control over anything, help us to patiently lean on You, and commit our thoughts, actions, and trust, over to Your total control, and not to worry about the evil and wicked who seem to be prospering in their deceitfulness,(Psalms37:7Be still and rest in the Lord; wait for Him and patiently lean yourself upon Him; fret not yourself because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked devices to pass.8Cease from anger and forsake wrath; fret not yourself--it tends only to evildoing.9For evildoers shall be cut off, but those who wait and hope and look for the Lord [in the end] shall inherit the earth.10For yet a little while, and the evildoers will be no more; though you look with care where they used to be, they will not be found.)let us be joyful and exceeeding glad when they persecute us for for trusting in You(Psalms37:13The Lord laughs at [the wicked], for He sees that their own day [of defeat] is coming.Matthew5:10Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. 12Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.)Jesus Christ You have turned our mourning into dancing, by Your love toward us in Your Sacrifice for our sins, we will speak of Your Love, till the end of our days,we ask ask for a special blessing, for those who seeded and watered, so we might have everlasting life, for You are the only Way
"If we don't come together we are Saying To God, And His Son Jesus Christ His Life was in Vain!
John 17: 20-23
A smile cost nothing, but gives so much. It enriches those who receive it, without making poorer those who give. It takes but a moment, but the memory of it sometimes lasts forever. None is so rich or mighty that he or she can get along without it, and none is so poor but that he or she can be made rich by it.
One way you can express your love for God is by being committed to Him Jesus Christ and loving and supporting all true Believers, Christians, Saints because we are family in our Lord's Blessed Kingdom. This is what love is really all about: commitment. You don't really love somebody unless you're committed to their best interest.
What does it mean to be fully committed to God? • Giving my life to Jesus Christ. • Committing my life to His family which is really our true real family in Christ ...We are One Blood read Acts 17:26—the body of Christ, which is the church—and by getting to know your Brothers and Sisters in Christ they are His and your Church family of Believers, Christians, Saints. • Choosing to grow Spiritually and become more and more like Jesus Christ everyday in my character. • Using my talents and gifts to help others. • Sharing the good news with other people and fulfilling the mission and purpose God put me on this earth to do.
"ONE by ONE we are making Christ Jesus Love, Unity and Equality A Reality In The Body Of Our Lord Jesus Christ!!"
