What about realizing that if wasn't for the Wal-Mart your town would have no social center. The fat old guy and his wife across the street are swingers, he's a sex offender and has got more guns in his house than you'll see at ten visits to the flea market. People like Axl Rose, the guy from Blind Melon and Michael Jackson left Indiana in search of the bright lights and looked what happened to them. The same thing would have happen if they stayed. The Heartland! Axl Rose would be holed up in a garage apartment making matchbook models of town, The guy from Blind Melon would been the guy he murdered and Michael Jackson...I dunno...He'd be normal??? It wouldn't have been amplified through the television. Not even in Indiana...Just an obituary in the back of the paper....Those who stay and do something end up with the same thing...Toxic Reasons...The Zero Boys...Crumble! Implode! Go Metal? I dunno what'll happen to the Mighty John Waynes. They sound like they might be crumbling but's because they blow up from the inside out!!! Spraying this ROMP STOMP BOP BOMP! A pissed off rat thrown in a room of hungry cats. Kitty's got claws but rats got vermin. The vermin you feel when Iggy says "I Feel Alright" or the feeling you get when you listen the the Oblivians and YOU CAN FEEL the dingy streets of a town with a decieving facade. It ain't all racecars down Indianapolis way.....
The Mighty John Waynes played their "Final" show on 6/15/2002. Since then, the former members have been playing in The Slurs, The Jabs and The Retreads.

I forgot how much I miss playing in this band.. and hangin out.. and playing in Greg's basement... and tearin' the roof off of the Melody Inn.... shit.. I even miss the drama a little bit...
