Dan and Matt Quinn formed The Mighty Quinns in January 2008. They had often toyed with the idea of becoming a duo but never actually got round to doing anything about it. Then in December 2007, the Lewes Arms Folk Club asked to book them as a duo. Knowing this would force them to get their respective acts together, they took the booking.
Since then they have spent time in a studio recording their demo, and at this present moment in time, cannot think of anything more to write in this biography section.
About the songs:
1) Cat Among the Tails/The Radstock Jig - The first tune comes from the great Hammer-dulcimer playing of Reg Reader and the second tune was collected in Somerset by Cecil Sharp.
2) Us Poor Fellows - This song was written by Peter Bellamy and was used in his ballad opera THE TRANSPORTS.
3) Raking the Hay - This song come from the incredible singing of Sam Larner.
4) Coming Home from the Wake - A song from Harry Cox
5) Follow On/The Adelphi Polka - These two tunes come from the playing of a band called THE LEEDS BAND which consisted of two Melodeons and two Banjos. Our idea of heaven.
