Julie Stratton: vocals, guitar Julie began writing songs in 1996 under the guidance of Celeste Krenz and has since grown into her own voice. She takes the everyday ups and downs of life and creates beautiful stories of love, loss and laughter. A gifted singer, audiences often find themselves in a trance under the melodic spell of her voice.
Bevin Foley: vocals, fiddle Bevin's musical sophistication doesn't stop with her voice, her handling of the fiddle creates the illusion of a third voice on stage. She has been invited on stage by such performers as Vince Herman of Leftover Salmon, Trampled by Turtles, Pert Near Sand Stone, and Blue Turtle Seduction. She has also had the pleasure of touring with the bands Mountain Standard Time and Victor Barnes.

Deeply rooted in old time, folk and traditional American music, the Mile Markers are a dynamic, high-energy duo from Denver, Colorado. Formed in 2001 by Julie Stratton (guitar/vocals) and Bevin Foley (fiddle/vocals), their original songs, and unique arrangements of old time standards offer a new twist on the traditional folk sound. Today the Mile Markers can be seen as a haunting duet or a rollicking five piece when the music is taken to a whole other level by banjo, bass, and washboard. Authentic American roots music played with an honest and strong voice. Catch 'em where you can!
"This well-balanced and powerful duo from Denver has a stylistic maturity and sophistication well beyond their 20-something ages. Noteworthy were the duet's vocals – expressive, nuanced, and so in-sync that it seemed I was hearing one mind, singing through two voices. . . acoustic beauty like theirs is a rare find."
--Lee Patterson (Buffalo Grass Acoustic Society)

Hey Thanks for the add! I dont know a whole lot about bluegrass, but one of my best buds plays in a band called Long Road Home and all I know is from him... what Im tryn to say is that I may not know bluegrass but I know what I like... and Im liken what Im hearin'!
Spoke to KC Groves last night about the all women jam at the Shining Star. She was really interested. Maybe you guys ought to show up at the Oskar's Jam next Tuesday and do an announcement.
Also, Kristin Piljay, Damsell Fly in our show, will be doing her aerial act at the Elephant Revival / Ukulele Loki show at the Fox on June 13th. Stop down if you get a chance.
Like you music. I'll try to round up some of the cast to drive up to your show tonight at the Star. If we can't make it tonight, we'll make the May 30th show.
I envy your ability to perform with two people. We're doing the musical now and it's like forming a new band with 18 people in it. It's different from anything I've ever been associated with.
Say hi to Shannon and Nathanial when you get there tonight.
