THE MISERY JACKALS are a DIY project, motivated by a punk ethic of cooperation and hard work, in an effort to produce a unique and rockin’ show.
THE MISERY JACKALS formed on January 2, 2008 and quickly began playing all over Northeast Ohio. Since then, they have toured the country as far away as Austin, Texas.
THE MISERY JACKALS emerged from ghetto dive bars and backwoods hollers alike, blending punk and bluegrass with elements of roots and zydeco. THE MISERY JACKALS original songs are usually based on true stories, or real people who have inspired their composition. THE MISERY JACKALS also perform “banjotized” interpretations of punk classics, as well as traditional material. Call it what you like, they call it Pillbilly Browngrass.
