The Missed Connections began as a series of largely undocumented sonic tapestries in the early 90's, during breaks from eight hour stretches of Saturday piano lessons in Bach. Some of these appeared in the soundtrack for the experimental video "Smashing Crystal" in 2002. The name was coined in 2005, and the original guitar versions were written on a roll of brown paper hanging above the bed in a tiny West Village apartment. The Missed Connections are now based in Brooklyn.
The Missed Connections have two albums as a result of the RPM Challenge. The first-ever album from 2008 is "Gesture Sketch," and the brand-spanking-new album from 2009 is "hold still, you say."
