Them Jazz Catz are based out of Natchitoches Louisiana. The group was started about a year and a half ago by Carlos Ortiz IV (trpt) and Michael Jackson (gtr). Them Jazz Catz have grown to big success since then, playing weddings, parties, and the occasional concerts for Northwestern State University. Most of our repertoire is standards, but with a new age flare added on to the music. The members of the group are Carlos Ortiz IV (trpt), Michael Jackson (Gtr), Brian Williams (Bass), Curtis Simmons (Drms), and Lauren Brumley (vocals). As of now, Them Jazz Catz are the house band at Ducournau Square and play there mostly every other Saturday from 8-10pm. A good bebop project to add to your set is "Impressions" by John Coltrane. Easy head and managable changes at a fast pace. I think you could get it around 200 or so. Think about it. Later.
