WOW! What a g-r-e-a-t run this has been . . . six years (2003-2009) of music HEAVEN!
I said it many times and I'll keep saying it . . . none of this music would have happened without Gwen's patience, support and commitment - Thank you Gwen, for allowing me to fulfill this dream!
Hundreds, perhaps thousands of you stepped into our listening room over the years and shared our common love for music. From the Friday Open Mic's, Moozeke Ultraminifest, Best of Show competition, and Singer-Songwriter showcases, we have shared the universal language of music and it has created a bond that I will forever cherish. Thank you for your love and music!
The Mocha Moo is closing, but in many ways it has just begun . . . I encourage you to continue making music and sharing it with the world . . . Mocha Moo Loves YOU!
sorry i was unable to make it out. thanks so much for the wondeful atmosphere and everything you provided. it was a pleasure and honor to have played at the mocha moo. may God bless you in this new season. hope to see you around! s
One of my favorite slogans during the past couple of years has been "The Mocha Moo Loves You". I always smile when I read that.
You guys are the greatest! Thanks Jay for encouraging me to sneak out and play my music at night. Thanks Gwen for the great food and the warm, welcoming atmosphere you created. And Thanks Kahlua for being the best songwriters dog in history :).
It's been a fun community of artists too. In fact, today I had the pleasure of teaming up for the first time with one of your original performers. We're laying the groundwork in forming a duo. So if it's any consolation, the spirit of the Moo will live on!
You all were, are, and always will be greatly appreciated.
I have yet to come across such genuine loving human beings in the 25 yrs I have been doing music. The love of the music and most important the love of the people you invite into your cafe is a rare gift. Thank you both for the memories.
OH NO! Not what I was wanting to hear today. WE are sorry to see you go. Your place was rare jewel, a true diamond in the rough. Thank you for ALWAYS being so supportive of me, my music and the Tacoma Music Scene. You were one the rare venues to actually contribute to the music scene rather then just take from it. You are and will always be in our hearts and appreciated. I wish I could be at your final days but we have shows all day both days :'( This is very sad to hear and you are in our thoughts and prayers. Take care and we'll keep in touch.
Oh, Jay... I'm so sorry to hear about your closing. Mocha Moo has always been one of my favorite places to play. I appreciate how encouraging you've been to me and other fledgling songwriters. Thank you for your tireless efforts to let people share their music and connect with others.
I will do my darndest to be there this weekend. <3
It's rare you find somewhere that really honors artists for who they are. Thank you Jay and Gwen for all the Love and Hard Work you have put into this place. I will always hold my times in your establishment near to my heart.
Dear Sweet Mocha Moo, I am so sad to hear that your doors are closing. The Mocha Moo was the first place to take me in and encourage me to perform in Washington. My CD Release Party at the Moo will always be one of my most favorite memories- what a happy and wonderful night. I will always remember the kindness and generosity of both Jay and Gwen, as well as the friendship and talent of the fellow musicians I met at the Mocha Moo. Lots of Love and Best Wishes for the future! ~Becca Rae~
Hey. I've got a couple gigs coming up. I'm playing at The Swiss (21+) in Tacoma with Matt Coughlin on June 24th and at The Mocha Moo (all-ages) in Lakewood with Kurt Lindsay. If you're in the neighborhood, come check it out!
Friday June 19th The Mocha Moo 3810 Steilacoom Blvd. SW Lakewood, WA 98499 Admission is FREE!!! Starts at 8 PM. The Mocha Moo is where this whole idea originated, so this is a very important screening for everyone involved in the making of the documentary.
