The ladies and gents of The Molehill Orkestrah are performers in the old world tradition. Eight moles with a variety of musical backgrounds ranging from classical to punk rock, from mariachi to jazz, fuse diverse contemporary genres with traditional Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, Klezmer, and Eastern European influences creating vistas that unfold and expand.
Born from the marching flames of the Dia de los Muertos parade in Tucson, Arizona nine years ago, Molehill remains an integral part of the community, playing independent shows and collaborating with Tucson's finest artist and performance troupes such as Tucson Puppet Works and the pyro-technic theatre corps Flam Chen. Traveling coast to coast, border to border, and beyond, Molehill does it all, from historic theaters, punk rock clubs, weddings, and music festivals, right down to the alley outside your bedroom window!
"The Desert Gypsy propheteers of Molehill are nothing short of mesmerizing every time they set out."
-Stephen Seigel, The Tucson Weekly
