About THE MONDRIANS

According to French magazine Magic, « The Mondrians is a band that does quite a lot of things upside down. ». Their first home-made demo tape was recorded in their mountain-based rehearsal studio, the young Swiss band started touring, first in Switzerland, then on to France, playing in Paris, Marseille, Lyon. They also flew to unmerciful London to give people a taste of their songs, playing in 10 different venues there. Press and radio stations started talking about the band: « swiss pop-rock new talent, […] one of the best rock 'n' roll band at the present time » said French magazine Rock 'n' folk. The Mondrians would go on to be the support act for The Kooks in Zurich and open the famous Paleo festival in Switzerland. The band also continued to tour, playing at Eurockéennes festival in Belfort, after their song Reason to live was broadcast by Swiss radio Couleur 3. After 3 years on the road gaining both critical success and a strong following, the band traveled to the South of Spain in order to record their first album with producer Gordon Raphael (The Strokes, Regina Spektor ). The album is set to be released in 2009.
